Heart and Stroke Foundation researchers are recognized as global leaders on crucial cardiovascular and neurological research fronts. Your generous support helps fund nearly 450 researchers and investigative teams in local hospitals, universities and research institutions in communities across Ontario.
Regional and District Stroke Centres
The Foundation, in partnership with the government, created the Ontario Stroke System, which has enhanced stroke care for all Ontarians. These centres provide resources and training that allow for improved diagnosis and faster, more effective stroke care and treatment.

High Blood Pressure Program Participating Sites
With your support, the Foundation's High Blood Pressure Strategy provides healthcare professionals and patients with toolkits and information aimed at positively impacting patient outcomes by improving the management and control of high blood pressure.
Automated External Defibrillator (AED) Sites
Defibrillation, when used with CPR, can improve cardiac arrest survival rates to more than 50% if delivered within the first few minutes. The Heart&Stroke Restart a Heart, Restart a Life campaign is providing funding to put AEDs in more public places across Ontario and provide the training required to use them. To date, the Foundation is well on its way to placing an initial 1,000 units across Ontario, with more planned in the next year.
