Heart&Stroke Lottery Rules & Regulations

By purchasing a ticket in this lottery, the purchaser acknowledges that they have read, understood and agreed to the rules and regulations.

*Odds of winning any prize are approximately 1 in 3. All inquiries on the odds of winning are to be made to the licensee prior to ticket purchase. Only 250,000 tickets are available. Tickets are not tax deductible and must be purchased and delivered within the province of Ontario. Purchasers must be at least 18 years of age. Only 1 name can be entered as a primary ticket holder. Tickets are $100 each or 3-Pack for $250. For 3-Pack ticket purchases; tickets must contain the same names and mailing address; up to 3 names may be recorded on a ticket as secondary ticket holders; only one method of payment can be used; 3-Pack tickets will be mailed to the address of the primary ticket holder.

Alcohol and Gaming Commission regulations prohibit the following individuals and all of their immediate family members residing in the same household from purchasing a ticket: Heart and Stroke Foundation Board of Directors and employees; Miratel Solutions Inc. employees, and members of licensed gaming suppliers providing services to the lottery program.

Tickets: All tickets are to be issued in sequential order. Only tickets that have been paid for, and have been verified as paid for, are eligible for respective draws. Tickets cannot be purchased in the name of a minor. Please allow a minimum of two weeks for delivery of ticket(s). It is the responsibility of the primary ticket holder to ensure they have received their ticket(s) before the draws commence. Any requests for changes to the ticket buyer’s name requires photo ID. Tickets cannot be reimbursed and names cannot be changed once draws commence. The liability of the licensee of this lottery shall be limited to the purchase price of the ticket.

Prizes: 71,654 prizes, at a value of $10,136,726 (including all taxes and freight), will be awarded. All prizes are tax-exempt. Prizes will be awarded to the primary ticket holder. It is the responsibility of the primary ticket holder to allocate prize as necessary.

Prizes and images may not be exactly as shown. All prizes must be accepted as awarded. Prices are approximate retail value as of March 15, 2011, and include all applicable taxes and freight. Prize(s) must be claimed within one year after the draw dates. Please allow a minimum of 3 to 6 weeks for delivery of prizes. Unclaimed prizes will be reported and a charitable allocation will be approved by the licencing body.

Grand Prizes: There are 10 Grand Prizes including the top prize of $2 Million Cash, plus 9 Cash, Car and Trip Grand Prizes. Winners have the choice of the Grand Prize package or the cash out. All trips include transportation from Toronto, accommodations, transfers and taxes for 2 adults, unless otherwise indicated. Grand Prize 1: Cash prize of $2 million (provided as a lump sum). Grand Prize 2: 21-day Rhine River Cruise, 2012 Mercedes-Benz E-Class Cabriolet and Cash of $40,482 or cash out = $126,929; Grand Prize 3: 22-day South African Safari, 2012 Land Rover LR2 AWD and Cash of $35,313 or cash out = $102,012. Grand Prize 4: 26-day England & UK Tour, 2012 Mini Cooper Convertible and Cash of $40,161 or cash out = $95,372. Grand Prize 5: 27-day Australia & New Zealand Tour, 2012 Subaru Outback 3.6R Limited, and Cash of $35,065 or cash out = $92,001. Grand Prize 6: 10-day Rocky Mountaineer & Alaskan Cruise, 2012 Chevy Traverse AWD 2LT and Cash of $26,262 or cash out = $89,720. Grand Prize 7: 15-day Caribbean & Panama Cruise, 2012 Volkswagen EOS Convertible Highline and Cash of $35,992 or cash out = $90,884. Grand Prize 8: 7-day Orlando Theme Park Adventure (2 adults & 2 children), 2012 Ford Flex AWD Limited with Ecoboost and Cash of $28,360 or cash out = $86,937. Grand Prize 9: 7-day Muskoka Getaway (4 adults & 2 children), 2012 Volvo XC70 T6 AWD Level III and Cash of $29,456 or cash out = $86,576. Grand Prize 10: 14-day Costa Rica Eco Adventure, 2012 Toyota Highlander Hybrid and Cash of $36,391 or cash out = $86,587.

VIP Prize: Explore 7 of the Wonders of the World; includes airfare for 2 adults for 23 days to seven destinations (Colosseum - Rome, Temple of Zeus - Athens, Great Pyramids of Giza - Cairo, Great Wall of China - Beijing, Great Barrier Reef - Australia, Golden Gate Bridge - San Francisco, Grand Canyon - Las Vegas), includes first class accommodations, daily breakfast and sightseeing tours. Trip includes transportation from Toronto, all transfers and taxes. Cash out value is $30,000.

Early Bonus Prize: Live Carefree for a Year with: 2012 Mazda MX-5 GS Convertible ($43,714), Gas $10,000 (awarded as cash), Groceries $15,000 (awarded as cash), Loaded Credit Card $20,000 and Cash of $20,000. Total retail value is $108,714 or cash out = $100,000.

Early Bird Prize: Cash Prize of $300,000

Vehicle Prizes: Vehicle winners have the option of choosing one vehicle from the set or taking the cash out option. Vehicle winners are responsible to license and insure the vehicle from the time of ownership. Set 1: 2 winners can choose from: 2012 Mercedes-Benz GLK, 2012 Cadillac STS, 2012 Volvo C70 Convertible OR 2012 BMW 3 Series Cabriolet OR Cash of $55,000. Set 2: 3 winners can choose from: 2012 Nissan Altima CVT, 2012 Ford Fusion Hybrid, 2012 Toyota Camry Hybrid OR 2012 Volkswagen Golf TDI OR Cash of $31,000. Set 3: 3 winners can choose from: 2012 Chevy Cruze, 2012 Smart fortwo Coupe Passion, 2012 Mazda3 Sport GX, 2012 Ford Fiesta 4 Door sedan S OR Cash of $15,000.

Electronic, Gift Card, Home and Lifestyle Prizes: All electronic, gift card, home and lifestyle prizes must be accepted as awarded with no cash out option. All prizes are subject to substitution of models of equivalent value in the event the models awarded are not available. Gift card winners have the option to choose one (1) of the gift cards from a choice of four (4). All winners will be notified by mail with complete instructions on how to redeem their prize. iPod touch is a trademark of Apple Inc., registered in the U.S. and other countries. Key Dates and Draws: Winning tickets will be drawn under the supervision of Miratel Solutions Inc. All Draws (except the 10 Grand Prize Draws) will take place at the offices of Miratel Solutions Inc. located at 2501 Steeles Ave W., Toronto, ON M3J 2P1. After each winning token is drawn and recorded, it is returned to the drum and is eligible for all subsequent draws. Draw order will be: VIP Prize followed by Early Bonus, Early Bird Prize, and then the prize of least retail value up to the Top Grand Prize.

VIP Prize Deadline is midnight October 21, 2011. VIP Prize Draw will take place at 9am November 9, 2011. Early Bonus Deadline is midnight January 13, 2012. Early Bonus Prize Draw will take place at 9am February 1, 2012. Early Bird Prize Deadline is midnight February 2, 2012. Early Bird Prize Draw will take place at 9am on February 17, 2012. The Final Sales Deadline is midnight February 7, 2012. Final Draws will begin from 9am February 17, 2012 until complete. The 10 Grand Prize Draws will be conducted at Global Television, 81 Barber Greene Rd., Don Mills, Ontario M3C 2A2 on March 1, 2012 from 9am. Top 3 Grand Prizes Draws (taped March 1) will be broadcast on March 5, 2012 following Global News at 6pm.

Winners Notification: Major winners will be published in the Toronto Star on March 13, 2012. A complete list will be available at all Heart and Stroke Foundation offices and on our Web site www.heartandstroke.ca/lottery on March 13, 2012. Winners agree to the use of their name and photo for publicity purposes by the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario.
